Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said Beppe Iachini “deserves a kick up the backside” for his negative mentality.

The fiery patron spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss this afternoon and, as always, spilled the beans in quite spectacular fashion.

“Napoli are really strong at the moment, but Palermo sat back too much and I said that to my Coach,” he noted after Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat.

“He told me that sides like Lazio, Milan and Fiorentina conceded a bucketload of goals from Napoli, but I really did not like that response.

“It looked as if we were doing nothing other than waiting for Napoli to score against us. If a Coach starts off already beaten, then he may as well just stay at home and save the money of making the trip.

“I don’t like those who start out with the idea of losing. For example, Maurizio Sarri is different and believes he can always win.

“My Coach never ordered double marking on Gonzalo Higuain and for that needs a kick up the backside… Here we are talking about a striker who is much stronger than Edinson Cavani.

“Iachini is not at risk of the sack, but I would like him to think a little more like Sarri does, with a winning mentality. I am very worried about the approach of my tactician. Sassuolo would not have been as remissive as we were.

“I haven’t spoken to (Napoli President Aurelio) De Laurentiis. I imagine he’s so swollen with pride that if I were to touch him with a pin, he’d actually burst.”
