President Maurizio Zamparini confirms Davide Ballardini “no longer wants to Coach Palermo”.

Reports emerged this morning that the Coach would be leaving the Rosanero, and while his departure has not yet been made official, it’s not only a matter of time.

“This morning Ballardini sent me a message which categorically stated that he no longer wanted to Coach Palermo,” Zamparini explained on Radio Action.

“Honestly, I didn’t respond to the message, I delegated it to [sporting director Daniele] Faggiano. It’s not the first time, he also acted strangely in Verona last year, going home after the game.

“I consider him a great Coach, but this is the person he is. I think he wants to go home regardless. Maybe it’s for family reasons, but there’s no conflict with either me or Faggiano.

“A replacement? I admit that [Roberto] De Zerbi [of Foggia] interests me a lot, he’s a young Coach who has an attractive, attacking style.

“On the other hand, there’s the experience of [Edy] Reja who could be a guarantee for the team. I’ll take two days and then I’ll decide.”
