Zamp: ‘Sacking clause for De Zerbi…’

Maurizio Zamparini reveals Roberto De Zerbi will be due “a lot of money” if he sacks him as Palermo Coach.

De Zerbi was officially announced as the new Rosanero boss earlier today, but tacticians tend not to last very long at Renzo Barbera, as demonstrated by Davide Ballardini’s departure after two games.

“I haven’t started as before, because I didn’t fire anyone,” Zamparini insisted on Radio 24.

“It was Ballardini who walked away. It’s my destiny that for my last year at Palermo I’m not to stay with Ballardini.

“We had a better transfer window than our competitors. Ballardini is a great football Coach, but off the pitch he’s unsatisfactory because you can’t send a text message after two months saying ‘I don’t agree with you, I’m going’.

“I’ll seek damages from him.

“De Zerbi? There will be a clause in his contract which will see him earn a lot of money in the event of being sacked.”

Zamparini also gave an update on the ownership situation, as he’s looking to sell.

“I prefer the Chinese, because they want to make investments in the stadium and the training ground, they don’t want to make it just about football.”
