“Pioli is doing a great job. Enthusiasm is fueled by looking ahead, not looking behind and Milan have something more than their opponents, including Inter,” Zaccheroni told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They play good football. When they move in the final third, they are nice to see. Milan are not the best team, but they are those who play better football in Serie A.”

The Rossoneri will be without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the next four games at least.

“He is magical and irreplaceable, but Pioli has built a team that also works without him. They must seek depth, rely on the instinct of Leao and take advantage of Theo’s runs," Zaccheroni claimed.

“However, I’ve been following Rebic since his Eintracht days and he can make the difference as a point of reference inside the box.”

Zaccheroni believes Sandro Tonali can play a crucial role for Milan and believes the dualism between Alessio Romagnoli and Fikayo Tomori won’t be a problem for the Rossoneri.

“Tonali is a complete midfielder. For now, it seems he has the handbrake pulled, but the jersey of Milan weighs more than any other. If I were Pioli, I would protect him, maybe without letting him read the newspapers’ player ratings.

“As for Tomori, it is good to have strong players in the team. Right now, it’s difficult to exclude him from the starting XI. He is aggressive and has a strong personality.”
