“As they say… the heart wants what it wants, and in following my heart I’ve enthusiastically decided to accept an offer from Tre Fiori FC of San Marino,” wrote the 37-year-old on Facebook.
“I’ll join the team towards the end of March, after some commitments I previously made with legends of world football.
“I hope my passion, experience and professionalism can be useful to the club so we achieve even more ambitious results.
“Stay tuned… and I’ll wait for you on the field!”
Tre Fiori are nicknamed the ‘Ultras’ and are seven-time Sammarinese champions but have not won a League title since 2011.
Nonetheless, they are top of their group with six wins from their opening seven games.
