Mattia Zaccagni will miss the upcoming derby against Roma after being booked for diving in Lazio’s match against Venezia tonight.
The 26-year-old Italian midfielder had already been warned about simulation by referee Gianluca Manganiello but still went down incredibly softly anyway after the slightest of contacts with Mattia Caldara in the Venezia penalty area.
Zaccagni picked up a yellow card as a result of this dive, ruling him out of the upcoming Derby della Capitale. The derby between Lazio and Roma is key as both teams fight for European qualification this season.

His absence in the derby is a big loss for coach Maurizio Sarri as he’s been one of the Biancocelesti’s key players in 2022, being a large part of their upswing in form.
The 26-year-old Zaccagni has made 28 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Lazio, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in that time.
