Mattia Zaccagni’s last-gasp curler for Italy against Croatia has been named one of the Top 10 goals scored at EURO 2024, while Milan’s Mike Maignan made it into the Team of the Tournament.

The UEFA technical observers are a panel of experts who attended the games and came together to vote on the best individual performances.

These included former England manager Fabio Capello, ex-Napoli and Inter boss Rafa Benitez and Dutch legend Frank de Boer.

They released a list of the top 10 goals, won by Lamine Yamal’s strike for Spain against France in the semi-final, then Jude Bellingham’s overhead kick for England against Slovakia in the Round of 16.

In ninth place was the last-gasp Zaccagni curler that allowed Italy to draw with Croatia and get through the group phase.

The panel also named their Team of the Tournament, which included Milan goalkeeper Maignan.

Inevitably, the XI was dominated by competition winners Spain, who were victorious in all seven matches.
