Venezia have reportedly beaten Sampdoria to Young Boys striker Jean-Pierre Nsame, on loan with obligation to buy for €3.5m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Nsame has already undergone a medical with the Lagunari and is ready to complete the move before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Nsame had been increasingly on the outskirts of the Young Boys squad and was not included in yesterday’s game, officially due to injury.

The 28-year-old Cameroon international has been out of action since mid-May due to a serious injury, having lacerated his Achilles tendon.

Genoa and Salernitana were also interested, with Sampdoria seemingly the favourites.

However, he has now agreed a transfer for Venezia and it is reported to be on loan with obligation to buy for €3.5m.

The obligation will only be activated if Venezia survive in Serie A to play in the top flight again next season.

Before the injury, Nsame found the net 26 times with 11 assists in 42 competitive games for Swiss side Young Boys last season.
