Atalanta continued to celebrate a historic win over Liverpool in the Europa League on Friday morning with a picture on X, formerly Twitter: ‘You were not dreaming.’
The Nerazzurri became the first Serie A club to win twice at Liverpool in European competitions and the third after Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The team returned to Bergamo’s Orio al Serio Airport on Friday afternoon and will be preparing for Monday’s Serie A game against Hellas Verona starting tomorrow, as reported by Sky Sport Italia.
Atalanta reporter Massimiliano Nebuloni said President Antonio Percassi and Stephen Pagliuca were at Anfield on Thursday night and ‘cheered’ with the players and staff after the final whistle.
However, celebrations were ‘mild’ because there is still a second leg to be played in Bergamo next week.
Nevertheless, La Dea’s official X account pumped up the fans on Friday with a picture of Thursday’s score at Anfield with a message for their supporter: “You were not dreaming.”
