Roma defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa believes Italian football has returned to the top level after ‘three or four’ difficult years.

Juventus reached the Champions League final last season, while Napoli and Fiorentina made the semi-finals of the Europa League and the former Newcastle United man sees signs of recovery.

“Three or four years ago it [Italian football] was at its lowest,” Yanga-Mbiwa said at a Press conference.
