Milan target Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has begged Montpellier to let him go. “There are offers you cannot say no to.”
The defender has been pin-pointed as the heir to Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta in the centre of the Rossoneri back line, but Montpellier insisted the €5m would have to be ‘tripled’ in order to get a look-in.
“Now I am here, but it is a question mark because you can never know. There are offers you cannot say no to,” the 23-year-old told France Football.
“For example, if a club arrived with a project that suits me and offers €7-8m, what can you say when faced with a proposal like that?
“In any case, Montpellier have always been fair with me, so I will behave well and create no problems.”
The fact remains there is only one year left on Yanga-Mbiwa’s contract with the Ligue 1 winners.
There are reports Milan could raise their offer to around €10m in order to snap up the former Under-21 France international.
