Granit Xhaka is reportedly desperate to join Jose Mourinho at Roma, pushing Arsenal to lower their asking price to €17.5m.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the negotiations are progressing well between the clubs for the Switzerland international.
The original €15m offer was rejected, but it’s suggested that the Gunners have dropped their €25m request to a far more realistic €17.5m.
That means the gap can be bridged with some extra performance-related bonuses.
Xhaka is playing a key part in the process, pushing Arsenal to let him work with Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 28-year-old is under contract until 2023, but has been at the London side since 2016.
He was purchased for €45m from Borussia Monchengladbach.
