Alessandro Costacurta and Esteban Cambiasso agree with Beppe Bergomi and believe a Derby Della Madonnina in the Champions League quarter-finals would not be good for either side.
Both Inter and Milan have qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals so they could be paired together in Friday’s draw.
Inter legend Beppe Bergomi said on Tuesday night that he’d prefer a different opponent for the Nerazzurri and both Costacurta and Cambiasso, two Champions League winners for Milan and Inter share his view.
“I experienced a semi-final. I was always serene as a player, but those 15 days were the worst in my career,” said Costacurta, who faced the Nerazzurri in the 2002-03 semi-final.
“For the situation we have, it wouldn’t be good for both clubs,” added Cambiasso.
“It’s true that one team would go to the semi-finals, but one of them could remain out of the top four in Serie A because these games burn energy as the Zio [Beppe Bergomi] and Billy [Costacurta] said.”
