World Cup: Lukaku available for Belgium against Morocco

Inter Spezia

Inter star Romelu Lukaku is available for Belgium but starts on the bench against Morocco.

The Nerazzurri striker has been struggling with injuries this season, playing just five games at a club level since his return on loan from Chelsea.

He joined his national team in Qatar despite a muscle injury, and Belgium coach Roberto Martinez suggested on Saturday that ‘Big Rom’ would have been available against Morocco, despite not being fit enough to start.

Lukaku was expected to miss the opening three group-stage games for the Red Devils but could feature in the final match of Group F against Croatia next week.

The Chelsea loanee made his last competitive appearance for Inter on October 29, coming off the bench in the second half of a Serie A clash against Sampdoria.

Milan starlet Charles De Ketelaere is also on the bench today, while the Rossoneri target Hakim Ziyech starts for Morocco along with Inter keeper André Onana.

Belgium beat Canada 1-0 in their debut at Qatar 2022 on Wednesday, while Morocco held Croatia to a 0-0 draw.
