Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana has been dropped for Cameroon’s World Cup group clash with Serbia due to disciplinary reasons, reports detail.

The 26-year-old shot stopper is taking up the mantle from Samir Handanovic at the Nerazzurri and looks set to be their long-term option between the sticks.

Onana signed for Inter on a free transfer in the summer after his time with Ajax drew to a close and was slowly integrated into the squad, remaining on the bench for the first eight Serie A games of the season.

As reported by RMC Sport, Onana played the full 90 minutes of Cameroon’s World Cup opener against Switzerland but will not play in their upcoming game in Qatar against Serbia, being dropped for disciplinary reasons.

The exact nature of the situation is still unclear at this time and it’s also unknown if he’ll return for their final group game against Brazil. Backup goalkeeper Devis Epassy has taken his place in the starting lineup and Onana isn’t even on the bench for the Serbia clash.
