Denmark

Azzurri won 7, drew 1, lost 3, scored 19, conceded 13.

Italy have not crossed paths with the Danes since the Euro 2004 tournament, which ended in an ill-tempered 0-0 draw and the Azzurri eventually went out in the first round.

The last time these sides played in a qualifier was September 8 1999, when Denmark earned a shock 3-2 victory at the Stadio San Paolo in Naples.

Czech Republic

Azzurri won 1, drew 1, lost 2, scored 5, conceded 5.

The Czechs are a relatively new nation and so their record against Italy only stretches back to 1996, when the Czechs won a Euro 1996 group game 2-1 in Liverpool.

Italy also lost 1-0 in a 2002 friendly and were held to a 2-2 draw in another non-competition encounter two years later.

The one and only victory was one that brought happy memories for the fans, as Italy beat the Czech Republic 2-0 in the group phase of the 2006 World Cup, sending them on their way to lift the trophy.

Bulgaria

Azzurri won 8, drew 5, lost 2, scored 27, conceded 12.

These sides first met in a 6-1 friendly triumph in June 1966 and in general Italy have a good record.

The most memorable meeting was no doubt the 1994 World Cup semi-final in New York, when Roberto Baggio's brace gave Italy a 2-1 victory.

The Azzurri also won a Euro 2004 encounter 2-1, although Antonio Cassano's last-gasp goal could not prevent their group phase exit.

The most recent meetings have been World Cup qualifiers, drawing 0-0 in Sofia in October 2008 and winning 2-0 in Turin in September 2009.

Armenia

Italy have never played against Armenia.

Malta

Azzurri won 4, drew 0, lost 0, scored 15, conceded 2.

The island of Malta is off the coast of Italy and many in the country speak the Italian language.

So far the Nazionale has a 100 per cent record in these fixtures, all of them European Championship qualifiers.

They are a 2-0 victory in La Valletta in December 1986, a 5-0 thrashing in Bergamo in January 1987, the 2-1 away win in December 1992 and 6-1 result in Palermo in March 1993.

That 1992 game was tougher than expected, as Franco Baresi was sent off after Beppe Signori and Gianluca Vialli goals.

The same match also saw one of only two goals Malta have ever scored against Italy and the only one scored from open play.
