Yann Karamoh had agreed a transfer from Parma to Sheffield United, but it’s reported he failed to get a work permit.

The 23-year-old attacking winger had been seemingly all set for a move to England on transfer deadline day.

However, Tuttomercatoweb insist the deal collapsed because he was denied a work permit.

Karamoh was born in Senegal, but played for France at various youth levels.

He joined Inter from Caen in 2017, playing for Girondins de Bordeaux and Parma on loan before completing the €8m transfer in September 2020.

The Nerazzurri also retain 50 per cent of any future transfer fee should Parma sell.

Following Brexit, it has become increasingly difficult for players to get work permits and complete transfers from European Union countries.

Karamoh has French citizenship as well as Ivorian, but because he is not a senior international and made relatively few Serie A appearances, he is not given a work permit for the Premier League.
