However, Draxler opted to move to Die Wolfe on deadline day, and Allofs believes that’s down to the Bundesliga side’s project.
“Volkswagen have put in big money to build this team and give birth to this project,” Allofs told Premium Sport ahead of tonight’s Champions League match at Real Madrid.
“It gives us the ability to build something, especially after second place last season and participation in the Europa League.
“Why did Draxler choose us? We believe we convinced him like we did others players in the past, such as Luis Gustavo.
“He saw our project, maybe be thought it was a better project that that of Juventus.”
