German side Wolfsburg are interested in Brescia playmaker Alessandro Diamanti, according to reports in Italy.

The 27-year-old made his full international debut for Italy against Romania last night, although he didn't shine and was taken off at half-time.

Nevertheless, Diamanti has enjoyed an excellent start to the season since his return from England where he had been playing for West Ham United.

He scored a wonderful goal against Juventus earlier this month and is being linked with several big clubs.

Wolfsburg like doing business in the Italian market. They signed Diego from Juventus and Simon Kjaer from Palermo in the summer.

However, Diamanti is contracted to Brescia until 2015 and the club's directors are unlikely to let their star player leave on the cheap.
