Axel Witsel is in new negotiations with Milan, confirmed an intermediary, but Juventus are also interested in the Zenit star.

“I can confirm there has been new contact,” intermediary Francesco Marseglia told Milannews.it.

“It all depends on Milan now. The player went personally to speak to the Zenit President and asked to be sold. He was given the all-clear.

“The lad wants to come to Milan and if the Rossoneri want him then he’s ready to arrive in Italy tomorrow.

“It would be a loan for €3m with mandatory option to buy once the player made 20 appearances. The option would be €22m-€23m plus a few bonuses.”

However, the same figures apply to Juventus, who look to Belgian international Witsel after Schalke apparently took Julian Draxler off the market.

That sudden turnaround occurred on Saturday evening, reportedly because they were afraid Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg would match Juve’s offer.

Meanwhile, Milan CEO Adriano Galliani spoke to the club’s official television station after a 2-1 win over Empoli.

“Will we do something more in midfield before the transfer deadline? We’ll see, we’ll see. I don’t want to say anything that won’t be finalised, we’ll see.”
