The midfielder spoke to reporters from the Belgium camp at Euro 2016 and sent a come and get me plea.

“I want to try a new experience in a different League, a new challenge,” said Witsel.

“I hope to setp up a level and play in a big European club.”

He has been linked to the likes of Roma, Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

“My future could be in Italy or in England. It doesn’t matter if I go to Serie A or the Premier League, as long as it’s a big club.”

Milan already tried to approach Zenit for Witsel in January, but were put off by the €35m asking price.

As his contract is due to expire in 2017, that price-tag has dropped, but Zenit still want €20m.

Roma seem to have the upper hand, as Witsel would reunite with ex-Zenit Coach Luciano Spalletti.

Above all, the Giallorossi need a high profile replacement for Miralem Pjanic, who activated his release clause to join Juventus.
