Georginio Wijnaldum is on the verge of returning to the Roma squad after breaking his leg back in August.

The Dutch midfielder, who joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, played just 12 minutes for the Giallorossi before fracturing his tibia in a training session in August of last year. The former Liverpool man has been sidelined ever since, quietly working on his recovery.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Jose Mourinho received some good news at Trigoria this morning as Wijnaldum completed the entirety of the training session with his Roma teammates.

The Dutchman is now on the verge of making his return for the Giallorossi and could be on the bench for their upcoming Serie A clash with Empoli on February 4.

The return of Wijnaldum gives Mourinho an important boost to his midfield and the team will be confident of their chances in the fight for a top four finish.
