PSG are increasingly likely to sign Milan Skriniar for €15m in January, thanks also to Hakim Ziyech, so Inter are seeking Atalanta’s Merih Demiral or Udinese’s Rodrigo Becao as a replacement.

The domino effect is crucial in the final 24 hours of the transfer session and several deals are underway that will shuffle things along.

L’Equipe was the first to report that Paris Saint-Germain are in advanced negotiations to get Milan and Roma target Ziyech from Chelsea, but the big development is that it’s a dry loan for six months without an option to buy.

If confirmed, that leaves PSG with the necessary budget to spend on a defender and at the same time it is reported that Inter are now prepared to accept €15m rather than the original €20m asking price.

Skriniar’s contract is due to expire on June 30 and he has all but confirmed there is already an agreement to sign with the Ligue 1 side as a free agent in the summer.

It would suit everyone involved better to get it over with and make the move permanent now.

The other problem now is that Inter must find a replacement over the next 24 hours.

Their first choices are all off limits, including Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof, so Atalanta centre-back Demiral is emerging as the favourite.

He has been dropped several times in recent weeks by Gian Piero Gasperini and Tuttomercatoweb claim Inter have offered a loan with €20m option to buy.

A cheaper alternative is Udinese’s 27-year-old Brazilian Rodrigo Becao, who is more of a stop-gap measure.
