Why Vlahovic’s goal against Bologna was disallowed by VAR and how Juve star reacted

Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic had a goal disallowed following a VAR check in a home game against Bologna on Sunday, but eventually scored the equaliser at minute 80.

The Serbia international thought he had netted the equaliser in the second half of Juventus’ home Serie A game with Bologna, but referee Marco Di Bello disallowed it after a VAR check.

France international Adrien Rabiot was beyond the last Bologna defender and although he tried to get out of the way, he interfered with play, so Di Bello didn’t take long to rule out the goal after a VAR check.

Di Bello rushed at the monitor, called by the VAR official, given that it is up to the on-field referee to determine whether an offside player interferes with play.

As reported by DAZN, Vlahovic was not troubled by Di Bello’s decision and urged his teammates to keep pushing, trying to level the score.

He was proved right as he eventually scored the equaliser with a header at the far post at minute 81.
