Why Theo Hernandez was fined after Milan derby

Milan defender Theo Hernandez was not only suspended for a match following a red card in the Derby della Madonnina, but was also fined because of his attitude towards Inter fans at the end of the game.

The France international was given his marching order at the end of a tense Milan derby against Inter on Saturday. He was given a straight red card for a naughty foul on Denzel Dumfries and clashed with some Inter players while on his way to the dressing room.

The Sporting judge handed a one-match ban to Theo Hernandez but also decided to fine him €5,000 due to his ‘provocative attitude towards the opposing fans.’

Theo will be available to face Lazio in Coppa Italia tomorrow but will miss the upcoming Serie A fixture against Sampdoria at San Siro on Sunday.

The France international will soon sign a new contract with the Rossoneri, extending his stay at the club until June 2026.
