La Repubblica’s correspondent in Rome, Matteo Pinci, said the argument probably started with a potential Paredes foul on Stanišić seconds before the visitors’ second goal. Bayer Leverkusen player appealed for a yellow card and Paredes defended himself.

Sardar Azmoun, who is on loan at Roma from Bayer Leverkusen, tried to clear the air between his old and new teammates, while Bayer defender Jonathan Tah pointed a finger at Paredes, who had already been involved in other disputes this season, especially in the most recent derby della Capital and a home loss to Bologna.
