While La Repubblica newspaper suggests Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is one of the candidates for the Milan job, other sources point out the flaws in that argument.

The Rossoneri are set to fire Stefano Pioli at the end of the season and have made it clear they want an international profile for the bench.

The hot favourite right now is Sergio Conceicao, especially as there is a clause allowing him to leave FC Porto in the summer.

Julen Lopetegui had been approached and was on the verge of an agreement before fan protests pushed the club hierarchy to look elsewhere.

Pochettino latest on Milan list

Now La Repubblica claim that Pochettino has been identified as another potential name on the list.

However, Calciomercato.it point out that is frankly an unlikely scenario, because there has been no contact with Pochettino’s entourage so far.

The coach is also still under contract with Chelsea and a massive €15m per season salary, whereas he’d get about a third of that at Milan.

  1. Every week the targets are getting wilder and wilder in the press. Gotta love that no one really knows what Milan is planning or doing so it makes the theories in the press even more outrageous. 🤣

  2. More made up nonsense.
Regardless, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about when it comes to Pochettino. Like the epl itself, he seems more hype than substance.
