Milan coach Stefano Pioli joked about his Juventus counterpart Massimiliano Allegri during a pre-match press conference on Thursday, on the eve of a Serie A game against Lazio.

Pioli admitted that the Serie A title race is over as Inter have a 12-point lead over Juventus and 16 points more than the Rossoneri.

However, when asked to predict how many points Milan will need to secure a top-four finish, Pioli replied: “Allegri is good at these things. I think he said 70 points are needed, so we still have a long way to go.

“We only think about Lazio. We do not need to rest somebody before Thursday’s game.”

Among other things, Allegri is famous for predicting how many points are needed to reach certain objectives each season.

He used to predict how many points Juventus would need to win the Serie A title during his first five-year spell at the club, while at the beginning of this season, he said the Bianconeri required to earn at least 76 points to finish in the top four.

Juventus are four points above Milan in the Serie A table and will meet the Rossoneri for the second time this season at the end of April.
