Stefano Pioli did not talk to the media following Milan’s crucial 2-1 win over Fiorentina yesterday.

The Rossoneri took an early lead in the match thanks to Rafael Leao but their joy was short-lived as Antonin Barak netted an equaliser for the Viola in the 28th minute. A tense and edgy affair followed, with Milan eventually taking the win thanks to a Nikola Milenkovic own goal in the 91st minute.

As reported by TMW, Pioli did not talk to the TV broadcasters or in a press conference after Milan’s win over Fiorentina, remaining absent due to serious family bereavement.  Reports suggest that his brother in law sadly passed away, which is why he left the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in tears.

The Rossoneri coach will be able to use the early stages of this six-week World Cup break to focus on family matters before returning his attention to football.

Milan’s first game after the World Cup break is on January 4 against Salernitana. Yesterday’s win leaves them eight points behind league leaders Napoli after 15 games.
