Napoli ultras release a statement saying they will remain silent when Milan travel to the Stadio Maradona on Sunday to protest against the increase in ticket prices and restrictions due to security reasons.

The Partenopei are en route to winning their third Serie A title in history with a 19-point lead over Lazio, their closest opponent in Serie A.

They host Milan at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday, but the atmosphere won’t be as warm as usual during home matches.

Napoli ultras, in fact, released a statement on Saturday, saying that they will remain silent against Milan and won’t bring flags to protest against the security restrictions they had faced earlier this season and the increase in ticket prices.

Napoli ultras had been banned from attending away matches for two months following clashes with Roma ultras in January. The suspension for both Roma and Napoli’s ultras ended before the international break.

“Fewer ultras and more families at the stadium, but which families? Seeing the prices, only the rich ones,” Napoli ultras said in a statement.

Napoli ultras also announced they would reunite on Sunday at 16.30 local time, 15.30 GMT, at Piazzale Tecchio to “recreate that atmosphere that is denied us inside the stadium.”
