Piotr Zielinski, Amir Rrahmani and Stanislav Lobotka feature in Napoli‘s starting XI for the game against Juventus despite receiving a quarantine order.
The last 24 hours have been quite chaotic as Napoli were given the green light to travel to Turin to face Juventus. However, the local health authority ASL Napoli 2 urged the Partenopei to follow the latest Government decree that imposes a quarantine order on all ‘direct contacts’ who do not have a booster or got the second jab more than 120 days before.
Turin health authority clarifies on Napoli players in quarantine and mandatory masks
The Turin ASL director Carlo Picco confirmed that the Napoli trio should self-isolate.
“To me, they should quarantine,” Picco told La Gazzetta dello Sport today.
“We take note of the decision from ASL 2 of Naples that ordered them into quarantine because they don’t have the booster.”
However, Sky Sport Italia explained how the quarantine order on those three Napoli players was not valid because the communication arrived while the footballers were already travelling with the team yesterday so they were already part of the so-called ‘bubble.’
There was another major twist today as Lega Serie A approved a new COVID protocol which states that games must go ahead if 13 players, including a goalkeeper, are fit so this could be another reason why the three Napoli players are allowed to face Juventus tonight.
