Back in June, José Mourinho claimed Italy vs. England was the ‘perfect EURO 2020 Final’ and revealed why he would support the Three Lions.

The Roma coach has widely commented on the Euros on British media.

Back on June 29, right before the Round of 16 tie between England and Germany, the Special One wrote in the Times that Italy vs. England was the ‘perfect Final’ for him.

“I feel connected to Italy because, as coach of Roma, I have players in that national team. I wish the best for Leonardo Spinazzola, who has been playing very well, and Bryan Cristante coming from the bench,” he wrote.

Mourinho: ‘Italy vs. England the perfect EURO 2020 Final’

“Italy against England in the final would be the perfect scenario for me, and I am an England fan now. I would love Harry Kane to take the trophy in his hands from Aleksander Ceferin. Beat Germany and I see them at Wembley in the final.”

England beat the Germans 2-0 in the Round of 16 and booked a place in the Final after sealing wins against Ukraine and Denmark.

The Three Lions meet the Azzurri on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

It kicks off at 8 pm UK time.

Meantime, Mourinho has begun his tenure at Roma. The Portuguese tactician had arrived in the Capital on July 2 and the Giallorossi began the pre-season on Tuesday, July 6.

Mourinho met Leonardo Spinazzola in Trigoria on the same day with the Italian defender who had undergone an Achilles tendon injury the day before. The defender will remain out of action for six months.
