Roma coach José Mourinho is not on the bench for Sunday’s Serie A game against his former club Inter as he was sent off in the previous league match against Monza.

Mourinho will miss the reunion with his ex-club Inter on Sunday as he’s serving a one-match ban in Serie A. The Portuguese coach was sent off in the final minutes of Roma-Monza last week after seeing Stephan El Shaarawy score a late winner for the Giallorossi.

Mourinho was sent off as he mocked Monza players and coach Raffaele Palladino on the touchline, miming a ‘crying’ gesture. The Special One has insisted he didn’t get the red card on purpose adding that those who think so are idiots.

Nuno Santos, one of his assistants, was also shown a red card against Monza. Salvatore Foti will replace Mourinho in the dug-out against Inter.

Roma earned 14 points in the opening nine Serie A games this season and are eight below the Giallorossi.
