Most Milan fans on social media hope Antonio Conte will replace Stefano Pioli in 2024-25 as the former Juventus and Inter coach is a ‘guarantee of competitiveness.’

Conte left Tottenham by mutual agreement in April 2023 and is currently without a club, but is expected to return to a Serie A bench next season.

With Milan reportedly unlikely to confirm Pioli for 2024-25, most Milan fans in Italy have been backing the Italian tactician to take over the Rossoneri from next summer and have made their voices heard on X, formerly Twitter.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights, Milan supporters feel Conte would be a ‘guarantee of competitiveness’ for the Rossoneri who currently sit third in the Serie A table and have already been eliminated from Coppa Italia and Champions League this season.

‘No other coach is as popular as Conte for Milan fans,’ wrote journalist Alessandra Gozzini.

‘Many believe that with him, the Rossoneri would be title contenders again and it doesn’t matter if he won the last titles with Juventus and Inter.’

Conte has won four Scudetti as a coach, three times with the Old Lady and once with Inter in the 2020-21 campaign when he ended the Bianconeri’s domestic domination, which had started under him nine years earlier.

It remains to be seen if Milan directors will sack Pioli and pick Conte as his replacement as the ex-Chelsea and Tottenham boss is very demanding on and off the pitch and has a high salary.

Conte has also been linked with Napoli and was spotted at the Stadio Grande Torino on Sunday in the Partenopei’s 3-0 loss against the Granata.

  1. With current squad? There’ll be no “guarantee of compatitiveness”, like Conte ever said, “you can’t eat at a 100€ restaurant with 10€.” Leao is too overrated.

  2. At least Leao would have learned how to fight and work for the team. And maybe he would have run away from the club. 😉
