According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Milan remain interested in Trevoh Chalobah and Jakub Kiwior, but negotiations are stalling as the Rossoneri are assessing Chelsea and Arsenal’s transfer condition.

Stefano Pioli has confirmed the Rossoneri will try to sign a centre-back in the January transfer window after recalling Matteo Gabbia from his loan at Villarreal.

Tuesday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport, on page 21, reports the Serie A giants remain interested in Chelsea’s Chalobah and Arsenal’s Kiwior but have been struggling to reach an agreement with any of the two Premier League sides.

According to the report, Milan need Chelsea to pay part of Chalobah’s salary if he moves to San Siro on loan until the end of the season, while the Gunners are unwilling to part company with Kiwior, a former Spezia defender, on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, which is the formula requested by Milan.

Neither Chalobah nor Kiwior have gotten regular playing time this season, so the Rossoneri hope any of the two deals will unlock in the final days of the January window.

Aston Villa’s Clement Lenglet has also been linked with a move to the Stadio Meazza, but the Frenchman is on loan from Barcelona and Villa coach Unai Emery has reiterated that he doesn’t want to see the 28-year-old leave this month.

Lastly, Lilian Brassier is an option, but Milan are not considering matching Brest’s €10-12m asking price.
