There are reports that Manchester United are willing to trigger Kim Min-jae’s release clause in January, but according to Sky Sport Italia, the clause is not valid in the winter transfer window.
The South Korea international has impressed in his first few months at Napoli with two goals in eight appearances across all competitions and some solid displays at the back.
CNN Turkey reported this morning that Manchester United are monitoring the 25-year-old while other outlets in the UK suggest the Red Devils would be ready to pay his €45m clause in January.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Kim’s release clause is not valid in the winter transfer window and is around €50m.
Therefore, clubs interested in the solid-rock defender can only activate his clause starting from the summer of 2023.
Kim replaced Kalidou Koulibaly at the Stadio Maradona in the summer, joining the Partenopei for €18m from Fenerbache.
