Cristiano Ronaldo is still trying to sue Juventus for €19m in unpaid wages, but the Bianconeri lawyers claim he gave away his rights to the salary in his rush to join Manchester United.

The Portugal legend joined Juve from Real Madrid in 2018 for €117m and his rapport with the club deteriorated after the pandemic hit in 2020.

During that time when football effectively shut down, the club agreed with all the players and staff to forego four months of wages to help everyone get through the crisis.

Many of them confessed later to agreeing that these wages would be paid eventually through other clauses and in future seasons.

So when Ronaldo left on transfer deadline day in August 2021, he felt that he was still owed that €19m.

A first legal action was rejected, a second hearing was held today in Turin and Tuttosport report that Juventus lawyers have two very important pieces of evidence on their side.

The first is that the famous letter agreeing to spread out the wages was never actually signed by Cristiano Ronaldo, and therefore has no legal basis as a contract.

The second is that Ronaldo was in such a rush to push through his deadline day move to Manchester United that he signed a waiver confirming Juventus did not owe him any outstanding payment.
