Ademola Lookman turned up to Atalanta training without informing the club first and will work separately for the next two weeks, as his future remains a mystery.

The striker had stormed out on August 4 after submitting a formal transfer request, angry that the €45m including bonuses offer from Inter had been rejected.

He travelled around between London and the Algarve during the last two weeks, refusing to attend training with the club paying his salary.

Now he has returned to Bergamo and was expected at the Zingonia training camp on Wednesday, but without informing Atalanta of any change of plans, Lookman turned up today instead.

There were no meetings to clear the air or discuss what happened, evidently this is something that Atalanta want to resolve behind closed doors.

Lookman trained separately, confirming that his recent fitness problems had been overcome.

The big development is that Atalanta will make Lookman train by himself for the next two weeks, let’s say until early September, and then we’ll see what happens.

Nothing is certain as of now, so we would advise nobody to get ahead of themselves making predictions.

The transfer window in Italy closes on the evening of September 1.
