Juventus star Angel Di Maria is not playing against Milan due to a two-match ban received before the international break.

The Argentinean star left his mark in Juventus’ 3-1 win over Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League earlier this week, completing a hat-trick of assists and helping the Serie A giants win their first European fixture this term.

However, he is suspended against Milan today as he is serving a two-match ban.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star saw a straight red card in Juventus’ 1-0 loss to Monza before the international break for a reaction foul.

Therefore, he received a two-match ban, ending after today’s game at San Siro.

El Fideo has been struggling with injuries in his first two months in Turin but still managed one goal and four assists in six games across all competitions.

After the game against Maccabi on Wednesday, he admitted that he deserved a two-match suspension for his reaction in the game with Monza.

“I’m sorry not to play, but I deserve it,” He admitted. “I am sorry for what happened, it was a lack of respect for the club and myself. I’ll try not to do it again.”
