Tuttosport reveals why Juventus failed to sign Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.

Both strikers had been linked with a move to the Allianz Stadium in the past and the Turin-based paper reveals why the Old Lady were unable to wrap up deals to secure their services.

Juventus sounded out Mbappé in 2016 when the striker was playing for Monaco. At that time, the club’s asking price was €50m, but Juventus preferred not to invest so much money on the French striker who joined PSG in 2017 in a €180m move.

Haaland came even closer to joining Juventus, according to the report.

The Norway striker visited Juventus’ training facilities in Vinovo in 2017 and watched a game from the stands of the Allianz Stadium wearing a Juventus hat.

Haaland was only 17 at that time. Juventus could have signed him for €4m, but Haaland opted for a smaller team that would have given him more playing time. Therefore, he signed with RB Salzburg.

Juventus once again tried to sign the striker in the 2018-19 campaign and in January 2020, but his agent Mino Raiola opted for Borussia Dortmund to help the striker’s development.
