Juventus hope to finally convince Aaron Ramsey to terminate his contract by mutual consent and there is a development making it easier for that to happen.

The Wales international has long been considered something of a burden on the club coffers, as he arrived on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2019 and as such was given a huge €7m per season salary.

However, his experience in Turin was dominated by injuries and poor form, so he only made 70 competitive appearances for the club, scoring six goals with six assists.

The 31-year-old spent the last six months on loan at Glasgow Rangers, playing 13 games with two goals and two assists.

According to Calciomercato.com, something has changed that will make Ramsey more amenable to terminating his contract early.

That is the fact his agents will still pocket a bonus worth €2.8m, which they earned by staying at Juve through 2021.

It is also reported that his agent David Baldwin is in Italy at the moment to discuss the situation with the Bianconeri directors.

The aim is to terminate the contract early by mutual consent and take his salary off the bill, as Juventus don’t believe they can find a buyer ready to pay a transfer fee and take on those wages.

Just compare Dybal and Ramsey’s carriers at Juve to undrestand if you are right or wrong.

  2. With Wales making the world cup, Juve have the power to freeze him out. He would want to enter the world cup in form. Perfect opportunity

  3. @All-Inter You should compare Dybala at Juve and Ramsey at Arsenal. And Dybala hasn’t done anything at Juve the last 2 years.

  4. Zambrotta
I don’t agree. He was very good. The problem was that he’s not as reliable as before due to constant injuries. Will he be the same Dybala at Inter? No, absolutely not. Just because he’s going to shadow around Martinez. And I don’t see him playing Lukaku/Dzeko role either. I don’t know why he chose this club, as he would have been a 100% starter in any other club.

  5. Ramsey’s only fit when playing for Wales. The footballing equivalent of a benefit cheat. The Welsh albatross hanging around the old lady’s neck.

  6. CALMAAA!!!

The pantyhose PhD Max fan girls are getting carried away. Even if Flimsey leaves, where are the replacements? Juve’s latest genius move is to take the £23M from Atalanta and they will do a Romero and sell him on for more, esp if Newcastle are interested. No wonder why they have never won the CL in the 21st Century. Di Maria is young but stalling. Pogba still not announced and on crazy money. Juve’s best chance is to send everyone on an apprenticeship to Munich to see how a proper big club runs a club.

  7. Ramsey is no fool. He can’t anywhere near $7mm/yr on the open market. There will be no termination of any kind. He’ll stay on our books just like the egg on our face.

  8. Lord Allegri nobody reads your posts anymore.

I think Cardiff City are Ramseys only possible option. To fail at rangers shows you’re not fit for top level football.

  9. @Bianconero you read it and played right into your triggered wokeness. Lord has been pretty much spot on all season. I will bet money that Juve will not win the league this season.

  10. @Debu, football is a strange game. I did not expect Milan to win but it is hard to see Juventus doing it. The best bet is 4th or 3rd spot as things stand. There are too many gaps in the team that have not been addressed. For example Sandro is still there and his salary is the issue. No club will take him on for even half of that money and get nothing in return. It is painful to say but one that needs saying. Inter look the most serious team to win back the title. I am not sure about Milan as it will depend on whether they strengthen the squad.

  11. What an absolute waste of … well, everything, Ramsey has been.

But expect more signings like him from Serie A clubs, because they never seem to learn.
