Inter director Beppe Marotta has confirmed that he’d rather sell Milan Skriniar than Lautaro Martinez in the summer.

The Nerazzurri must sell one of their stars to balance the books and make a capital gain from the summer transfer window.

They need to earn at least €60m and cut their wage bill by 10-15%. Skriniar has a contract expiring in 2023 and has attracted the interest of PSG.

However, the Ligue 1 giants saw a €50m bid rejected two weeks ago and are considering whether to knock on Inter’s door again with an improved offer. The Nerazzurri’s asking price for the Slovakia international is €70-80m.

Several top clubs in Europe also monitor Lautaro, but Inter are unwilling to sell the Argentina international. Marotta explained his transfer strategies during his latest interview with Radio Rai on Monday.

Marotta warns Tottenham over Lautaro, provides Lukaku and Skriniar updates

“It’s more difficult to replace a striker than a defender because there aren’t many of the first ones and have high prices. Probably, we’ll be forced to do something in defence, but Ausilo, Baccin and I are already considering valid alternatives if one of our defenders leaves,” he said.

Torino‘s Gleison Bremer is Inter’s primary target to replace Skriniar. The Serie A giants have already reached a verbal agreement with the Brazilian centre-back but haven’t yet made an offer for the Granata, not knowing how much they’ll get from the sale of Skriniar.

The Nerazzurri remain in advanced talks with Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala and it remains to be seen whether they’ll need to sell Lautaro if they manage to sign both their targets.

  1. Looks like the take- over is just around the corner. Bring players in cheap before the selling clubs see they have money. Clever strategy.

  2. @Capello by getting rid of players like Alexis Sanchez, Vidal, Vecino, Ranocchia, looks like Dzeko will be leaving as well, and selling Skriniar.

  3. Out of all their stars, Skriniar is the one whose departure will hurt Inter the most imo. I said this at the beginning of the window and I’ll say it again, Inter will regret selling this guy.

  4. @milan fan- fyllu agree with you.this guy represents heart and balls in inter, mature and very stable, proved in battles against best…
