Inter haven’t been shy about selling a star player or two in recent years to help shore up their accounts, but things will be different this summer.

Last year the Nerazzurri cashed in on goalkeeper Andre Onana, selling him for over €50m, and in the summer of 2022 they let Romelu Lukaku go for around €113m and Achraf Hakimi for circa €68m. Due to their delicate financial situation, the sales were necessary to keep the project moving forward.

Inter have finally started to build a strong project under Simone Inzaghi, with their unexpected Champions League run last term bringing in millions and smart transfer work from Beppe Marotta keeping the squad competitive, and they’re now on the hunt for the Scudetto.

Pages 14 and 15 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport detail how Inter will earn over €50m from participating in the upcoming Club World Cup and they’re already on track to lift the Scudetto, something that’ll bring in extra millions to the club.

The Nerazzurri have already started strengthening their squad, securing Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi on free transfers, and are now in a position where they don’t need to sell a star player in order to shore up their financial position.

Inter’s management are now focused on setting up new contracts for Nicolo Barella, Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries.
