Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni was eventually ruled out of Italy’s game against Spain due to a fever and replaced by Torino‘s Alessandro Buongiorno.

Bastoni didn’t train with Italy at Coverciano this morning due to a fever and will not be available against Spain on Thursday in the Nations League semis.

The Nerazzurri centre-back had joined his national teammates at Italy’s training ground after Saturday’s Champions League Final against Manchester City.

Bastoni was supposed to join his Italy teammates in the Netherlands but will not travel with the group and has been replaced by Torino centre-back Buongiorno.

The 24-year-old has played 38 games with the Granata this season.

The Azzurri will fly out in the afternoon. Roberto Mancini and Leonardo Bonucci will hold a pre-match press conference at the FC Twente Stadion at 18:30 GMT+1.

The experienced Juventus defender is expected to start at centre-back with Francesco Acerbi against La Roja.
