Sky Sport Italia claims Inter boss Simone Inzaghi prefers Alvaro Morata to Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun mainly because the Spaniard is more experienced.

The Nerazzurri are on the hunt for a new striker after dropping Romelu Lukaku. Morata and Balogun are high on Beppe Marotta’s agenda, but Sky Sport claims Inzaghi prefers the Spaniard.

During their transfer show on Monday afternoon, the Italian broadcasters said that Inzaghi believes Morata is more experienced and would immediately adapt after spending four seasons in Serie A with Juventus. Inter met Morata’s agents last week but seem unwilling to match a €21m clause to sign him from Atletico Madrid.

The 30-year-old is also in talks with Roma and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, he has already agreed personal terms with the Giallorossi. Morata has scored 35 goals in 130 Serie A matches.

On the other hand, Arsenal’s asking price for 22-year-old Balogun is believed to be circa €40m. The USMNT international was not involved in the Gunners’ pre-season friendly against Manchester United on Sunday and said he wants regular playing time in 2023-24 after the game.
