Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has sustained a minor flexor problem so he won’t start against Udinese on Monday, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Italy international Bastoni trained separately from the rest of the team on Friday due to flexor muscle fatigue and according to Saturday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport on page 11, he won’t start against Udinese on Monday night.

Exams undergone by the ex-Parma and Atalanta defender on Friday ruled out any lesion, but Simone Inzaghi and Inter doctors don’t want to run risks, so Bastoni won’t feature in the starting XI against Udinese in Inter’s next Serie A match.

It remains to be seen whether the Italy international will join his teammates in Udine or stay at the Pinetina to complete his recovery.

According to Gazzetta, Carlos Augusto or Yann Aurel Bisseck will replace Bastoni in Inter’s three-man defence at the Bluenergy Stadium on Monday.
