Nico Gonzalez is available for Fiorentina against Napoli despite an injury, but he won’t be introduced unless the game goes to a penalty shootout.

The Argentinean winger has been out of action for a month with a hamstring injury and was not expected to go on the bench for a Coppa Italia semi-final against Napoli on Thursday.

He wasn’t initially included in the squad list for tonight’s game, but in the end, he was added to the Viola squad in place of 16-year-old goalkeeper Tommaso Vannucchi, reports Calciomercato.com.

Sport Mediaset has clarified that Nico is not fit to play, so he’s expected to be introduced as a substitute only if the game goes to a penalty shootout.

There is no extra time at the 2024 Supercoppa so there will be penalties if the game ends with a draw.

Nico is Fiorentina’s best penalty-kick taker, having missed just one spot-kick from ten during his spell at the Stadio Franchi.
