Cannavaro, younger brother of 2006 World Cup winner Fabio, continues to be ignored by Azzurri boss Cesare Prandelli despite his status at Napoli.

"Cannavaro is having a stupendous campaign and his non call-up is absurd," agent Gaetano Fedele told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"He's having an excellent season and Italy should select the players who are best performing in the championship. Evidently that is not the case."

One aspect going against the inclusion of Cannavaro is that Napoli play with a back-three, while Prandelli employs a back-four.

"That excuse doesn't stand up," added Fedele. "Fabio Cannavaro played in a three-man defence while at Parma and he always played in a four for his country.

"Cesare Prandelli needs to clear this matter up."

Fedele is the second agent to attack Prandelli today after Manuel Pasqual's representative insisted that the Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”19″>Fiorentina man deserves a place in the Giro Azzurro.
