Robin Gosens remains on Newcastle United’s radars and Atalanta are reportedly open to selling the Germany international for a suitable offer.

The Magpies have targeted Gosens and Zapata, but La Dea may sell only one in the January transfer window.

In his latest interview with Sky Sport Italia, club director Umberto Marino discussed Gosens’ availability, failing to confirm or deny Newcastle’s interest in their star.

“I read stories of Newcastle interest in a different Atalanta player every day, it’s like Bingo to see who comes up next,” Marino said.

“Robin has been out of action for four months, we miss him as a player and also a person, as he is one of the leaders of this squad and we hope he returns as soon as possible.”

According to multiple reports, Gosens has already reached an agreement with Newcastle, but Atalanta are waiting for a suitable offer.

Tuttomercatoweb reports Atalanta are looking for a proposal in the region of €30m to sell the 27-year-old.

Giuseppe Pezzella’s performances have convinced La Dea to consider offers for Gosens, who has been forced to the sidelines since the start of October due to a severe thigh injury.

The Germany international has 25 goals and 18 assists in 121 Serie A appearances with La Dea.

He moved to Bergamo in a €1m deal from Heracles Almelo in 2017.

2 thought on “Why Gosens could join Newcastle during the last week of the January transfer window”
  1. He is worth way more than that!!! Do not give him away Dea. He is one of the best full backs around and routinely changes the outcome of many games

  2. He only has 1 year left on contract which is why price tag is only 30 mil. He could have easily gone for over 50 mil if he had 3 or 4 years left.
