Alessandro Florenzi was subbed off in the first half of EmpoliMilan, but according to Sky Sport Italia, the Italy international only felt a slight twinge and came off as a precautionary measure.

The Rossoneri full-back was forced off the pitch at minute 35 with Milan up 2-0 thanks to goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Olivier Giroud.

According to Sky Sport Italia (via Milannews), Florenzi was replaced as a precautionary measure as he had felt a slight twinge in his adductor.

The report claims Florenzi reassured his teammates on the bench that the injury was not severe. It remains to be seen if the former Roma defender will undergo medical examinations in the coming days.

Florenzi was replaced by Spanish left-back Alejandro Jimenez, who had made his senior debut in a Coppa Italia game against Cagliari on January 2, 2024.

Jimenez is on loan from Real Madrid and this is his first Serie A appearance.
